Spirit Airline Baggage Policy

Spirit Airlines allows passengers to carry cabin and check-in baggage on its flights.

Passengers are allowed one cabin bag and one personal item onboard subject to size limits. The cabin bag shall not exceed 22 inches x 18 inches x 10 inches (56 cm x 46 cm x 25 cm) and the personal items shall not be more than 18 inches x 14 inches x 8 inches (45 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm). There is no weight limit prescribed by the airline.

Check-in baggage is not free on Spirit Airlines. The standard size of the check-in bag is 62 linear inches and weight is 40 lbs. Oversized and overweight check-in baggage, subject to upper-limits of 80 linear inches and 100 lbs. respectively, shall be charged for. There is an exception to this policy. And, beyond these size and weight limits, the baggage will not be carried onboard. Spirit Airline Check-In Methods

After booking Spirit Airlines flights, you are required to check-in using any of the following given methods. During the check-in process, you will be able to select the seats of choice, seek special services and pay for baggage. The check-in methods are:

C) Airport check-in using counters

The airline would want you to preferable check-in using the online medium. The online or web check-in begins 24 hours before the scheduled departure time of flight and continues till 1 hour before the departure time of flight. There are three membership tier levels of this program and this is how they earn the miles
a) Somebody entitled to 50% of miles flown
b) Elite- entitled to 100% of miles flown

To graduate from somebody to Elite tier, you will need any of the three:
a) Have a Spirit World MasterCard and make 1 purchase per month at a minimum, or
b) Earn 12000 FREE Spirit miles over the last 6 months, or
c) Spend $1200 on base fares over the last 6 months

To move from Elite to VIP tier, any one of the following two needs to be done
a) Earn 24000 FREE Spirit Miles over the last 6 months, or
b) Spend at least $2400 on base fares over the last 6 months

Redemption of the miles can be done by way of award flights of the airline. Spirit Award flights can be booked online conveniently by selecting pay with Miles option.
